I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again...from my experience, I’m NOT a fan of Overtone.
It’s very difficult, sometimes impossible to remove.
In Tori’s case...all of that seemingly ‘natural/virgin’ regrowth that she applied purple Overtone to months ago when she was refreshing her ends (and all over because thought it wouldn’t matter to apply to her virgin hair) was still layered with pigment that was almost impossible for me to detect until I applied lightener.
When I did, it only lifted to a pinky/peach and I had to call it or I would overprocess her hair.
So, yeah....this colorist is not a fan, as I said.
I used @f18hair White Lightening Bleach Powder +10 volume for the lift. Slow and low got us there safely.
The blue toning shampoo afterwards to neutralize as much of the warmth as we could and lower the pH...that’s how it’s that’s pale/pastel of a blonde. That’s the best case scenario for the purple she wanted. If she wanted anything cooler (greens, blues, etc...it would’ve been pretty difficult this session).
I also added the Plant Based Reinforcement into my semis for an even saturation and shine.
Hope some of this helped ya out 💜
