Good thing we don't have to start our New Years resolutions just yet 🍩 lol Are you setting any intentions for 2023? I'm actually stoked about mine. I normally don't make any, but this year is all about creating a routine. This comes naturally for some people but not for me. I'm sort of a flow with the tides kinda girl, so establishing routine + a daily schedule goes against nature a little. I've been feeling really disorganized + lethargic, kinda lost lately. I think, for me, a routine will help with daily motivation + give me a sense of accomplishment & pride. Wyld's non-verbal ASD challenges me to understand what distractions + frustrations he's experiencing in his learning process. Routine establishes predictability, reinforcing a sense of stability + overall well-being for him, too! ASD presents differently in each individual. I dont want to scare anyone with the mention of a diagnosis so let me explain the challenges we experience. We struggle with verbal communication & non-compliance, some sensory preferences, + food aversion. He makes great eye contact, is affectionate + social. I'm starting to learn some toddler sign language to try to give Wyld a more effective way to communicate. Who knows if it will catch on with him?!
