Two common causes of hair loss- 1. Alopecia areata- occurs when the immune system attacks the hair follicles. In adults it often has a good response to injectable treatment with a dermatologist, with rounds of treatments about 4-6 weeks apart often needed. 2. Androgenic alopecia- male pattern or female pattern hair loss as we age. Minoxidil 5% foam twice a day can help and is over the counter. Many oral options are available and in my opinion best to be started early to prevent further hair loss. Not medical advice.
