Today, as remarked about the fall of the Berlin Wall, history has ended. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died and across the world after a 70-year reign, and a profound and sombre state of mourning is felt in the hearts of not just her subjects, but to all who have felt the effects of her love and service.⁠ ⁠ On becoming Queen, she declared: “I cannot lead you into battle, I do not give you laws or administer justice but I can do something else, I can give you my heart and my devotion to these old islands and to all the peoples of our brotherhood of nations.”⁠ ⁠ She died making good on this promise, surrounded by those she loved, as any mother and grandmother would wish to do. As her people, our time for closeness shall come, and so for now we send our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the Royal Family. While we process what is now the beginning of a transition, we remember with glad hearts and cheerful voice, the memory of our greatest monarch, who shall forever be an exemplar of duty and selflessness. We shall miss her deeply.⁠ ⁠ God Save the King!
