So unabashedly honoured that Cleopatra and Frankenstein has been nominated for The Grand Prize for American Literature in France! I have never been nominated for any award before so to have my first be in my favourite country is truly magnifique! It’s crazy to see my name next to literary titans I’ve read for years like Jonathan Franzen, Rumaan Alam, Anthony Doerr and Ben Lerner. All ten of these novels are exceptional (but in my heart I’m rooting for me and fellow female debut @leilamottley 🥰). Thank you to my translator Marie de Prémonville and the wonderful team at @editions.anne.carriere who have championed this book with such heart. And, as always, vive la France!!! ✨🇫🇷🕊🤍
