Who is she?
Is she a mother?
Is she a wife?
A friend?
An artist?
A dreamer?
Who is she?
Is she anyone? Is she yours? Is she hers?
Is she someone she admires?
Does she feel strong?
Does she feel safe?
Does she reach for her dreams?
Is she living the life she wants?
Does she feel confident in her voice? Her words? Her actions?
Does she speak from her heart or keep herself small?
Does she inspire?
Does she push?
Does she feel happy?
Does she feel safe? Supported?
Does she long for something that feels like it could be more?
Does she linger on your mind?
Does she remind you of someone?
Does she bring out parts in your own self that bring you to question who you are?
Is she someone you have memories with?
Or someone you once knew?
For some, we are bits and pieces of ourselves, sometimes burning at both ends, unable to remember the person we were yesterday let alone 4 years ago.
We wear roles like hats, each one so specific to that moment, that chapter in time.
But does each one share space for the other?
Can we find the parts we lost while still holding onto the pieces we love today?
Can we be nurturing while wild & sexy?
Can we be safe and yet lean into the abyss of the unknown?
Can we grow & learn but remain parts of the same? Do we want to be the same?
Can we be soft and yet strong with our beliefs, words, thoughts and heart desires?
Why do our roles define us so?
A mother can still be a lover, an adventurer, a leader.
And a leader, an adventurer, a lover can be a mother.
Can’t we be it all, or is that not so?
Why can’t we lean into the parts of us that feel good, even though other parts also feel good.
