Almost every morning, a pair of pileated woodpeckers fly through our yard, hopping up and down the trees and old stumps, searching for a buggy meal. And every once in a while I manage to sneak up to them hiding behind a tree to get a photo. Gives me a shot of pride every time, knowing our yard is a little haven for native wildlife to visit and forage for a meal.
