The moment SOOOOO many of you have been asking for 😂. Josie's 403 Western Costume! 403 was a big episode for this character in so many ways, from starting to accept that Dark Josie will always be a part of her, to taking on Hope, and then here in the therapy box she becomes a Vampire in Lizzie's journey. ⁠ .⁠ For Josie, since she had only just been turned, we wanted to play up her usual Josie nature and innocence in the costume, knowing the blood would make a nice shocking contrast to an otherwise sweet Josette. We toyed around with the idea if she would have the burgundy neckerchief and Mikaelson tie clasp, or was her change still that new that she had not yet "joined" the gang. Ultimately, it felt more real and natural that she go without the neckerchief, being that she had only just killed Uncle Ric. @kaylee.bryant and I had too much fun in the fittings for this costume, playing up the fun femininity, and light. You can see how she and Lizzie (when she was in her blue dress) were related in this world, she was at home in this western town, with Lizzie being the newcomer. ⁠ .⁠ Now, above and beyond all on this one, I am SO, SO grateful for Oksana @turnkey_sewing. Time and time again this season she made all of my design dreams come true beautifully. This was our first time working together and I quickly figured out we were work soulmates. She quickly understands and interprets my illustrations perfectly, her attention to detail is on my level, and the patterning and construction skills of her and her team are beyond impeccable.
