Great experience traveling around Guatemala solo this past January. Easy to get around, affordable flights and on the ground, rich indigenous and colonial histories, and never felt unsafe despite what one normally hears about traveling in the region. I spent most of my time around the old colonial capital of Antigua. 1.5 days were spent hiking Acatenango and the neighboring active volcano, Fuego. I took a day trip to Lake Atitlan as well, and then traveled across the country to Flores to visit the old Mayan city of Tikal. Live volcano video thanks to fellow hiker @hichamzeh
