Revisiting my own work often leaves me feeling like there’s so much I missed, or got wrong. A Year Without a Name isn’t the same book I’d write now, nor the the name I’d write it under. And yet I see how the questions I asked, the futures of my own body I wrote into, were integral in pushing me forward, towards even more questions. I want to honor the book still, because other versions of me, within the conditions of their moments, are what got me here.
Now the book has a new (paperback!) container, with a cover designed by @alexmerto, and a forward on how my book might be used as proof of Abigail schrier’s anti-trans hypothesis, and why I’m interested in that. Thanks, as ever, to @publishingtwins for helping this book continue to exist in new forms.
