When traveling to different cities, I always have to stop by the local markets to bring home some local flavors. Tonight’s episode of #ExpeditionX kicks off in the town of Iquitos, Peru– and their Mercado Belén was a keeper. From the Peruvian Inca Orchid dogs roaming the stalls (who are, no joke, often winners of the world’s ugliest dog competition!) to the countless medicinal plants to plastic bottles of ayahuasca (!) if you dare. And if you get hungry? Go for the palm weevil grubs, they’re pretty tasty.
