Fall temps & weekend long runs ammright?!
Why I used to ‘dislike’ running:
- I wore shoes too small and my feet got jacked up
- I was heavy on my feet and would over stride causing issues
- bad mechanics which caused me to work harder
- didn’t fuel properly and wondered why I would burn out
WHY I LOVE RUNNING:
• my stride pattern is better so I can stay healthy 👣
• burn off stress and anxiety 🫀
• build mental toughness 🤜🏽🤛🏽
• I’ve learned good mechanics to help me run more efficiently 🏃🏽♀️
• connect with nature, zen out 🙏🏽
• properly fitting running shoes, as well as a closet full of running shoes to filter through that make me AND my feet happy LOL 🤣
• I can challenge my self through different runs 👟
• its a time when I’m most creative 🧠
• it’s brought my to so many places and given me so many opportunities 📍
• I feel happy existing in my body ♥️
There’s ALWAYS room for improvement but all the things I “disliked” I could tweak, improve on and change... and the reasons I love running, well it’s always there for me, it’s my constant 😜👏🏽🫶🏽 and it enhances my life.
Today, woke up in London today... smashed my run workout:
1 mile warm up run
4 mile repeats at threshold pace with 90 second recovery jog
Then finish with easy effort run to 7 miles
Your race, your pace 🤙🏽
