Cautioning you now that this post is going to be sappy and potentially long. The past few months have been such an unbelievable whirlwind for me with so much going on that i haven’t had a single solitary moment to just sit and process it all. In February, I made my flash debut at the bar level thanks to @_saadashraf , @hirama.san and @robin_bueno giving me the opportunity and encouraging me to get back into it. I hadn’t played a show in four years since finishing up undergrad and playing an unforgettable tent show with my partner in crime @jadeleinemohnsson . I’ve been going to flash for years, spending ample time on all floors soaking in everything I could about the space and sound, so it meant the world to me that I finally got the chance to see a little dream of mine come true. Since then, slowly but surely, I’ve been fortunate enough to see more and more of those dreams come to fruition. I joined Sous la Terre after that show and have had the opportunity to play and support shows featuring some of the most talented DJs in the city in my humble opinion. There have been countless late night group calls ironing out last minute details on shows, countless group chats attempting to bring new artists around the city together, countless conversations on line-ups, promos, marketing, stage design and all the little things that go into curating the Sous la Terre shows y’all know and love. It can be overwhelming and all consuming at times, but honestly I wouldn’t trade it for anything. That I’ve been given the opportunity to contribute to a scene that has been instrumental in developing who I am at my core is just so rewarding. So thanks to all of you who come out to support us - it means the world to me, and I hope you enjoy the absolutely packed month we have in store for you come April.
