Thanks to the @woodlandparkzoo’s North American butterfly exhibit, Atlis got her first chance (in her entire life!) to be up close to and watch some butterflies. Love being able to see her brain start to understand this world around her, one new experience at a time. Butterflies were such an important part of my childhood and my dreams of exploring the rainforest, so we wanted to get these flying wonders into her growing and forming mind early. These are white peacock butterflies (Anartia jatrophae), native to SE United States but also common throughout Latin America.
