The Lord takes care of children & fools and...I was both! 😆♥️ If you knew my story, you’d know that with Prayer, Vision, and taking consistent Action steps, you can write a new story. I was all the things statistics say isn’t going to yield a successful life - a teenage mom, single, and Black. Although young, I was always clear that I had the ability to write my own story if I would continue to take steps towards improving my situation. In reflecting, their were three significant actions I took that supported my growth and gave me confidence that I could create better odds & future for myself and my son, @maliklovesyall 1️⃣I worked on developing skills. For me that looked like going to college. I researched majors that paid decently & attended with almost literally, a baby on my hip. #accountant 🤓 2️⃣I sought out community. For me this looked like joining the church where my faith was nourished. I am forever grateful for the love and support of two families, the Murphy’s and the Boldens! 🤍 Grateful for the lifelong bonds that were created! 3️⃣I found personal development and feeding my mind through reading and listening to books on tape (yep.... Cassette tapes) kept my mind focused on achievement and a greater purpose.
