The Jinni in season 4 of @cwlegacies was the first character collaboration between the creatures department (@villalobosstudios @magesheather) and myself. While I designed the costume, they designed the hair and makeup as well as constructed the costume (thanks to the skilled hands of @caitburk93 @beth_amber_hathaway and Ivy Villalobos). . We all wanted to amplify the badass qualities of this Jinn while keeping in a similar feel and color scheme to the one everyone saw in season 1. Very much each their own characters with a nod of a through line. This one should be a timeless badass that both had modern and ancient qualities. Mysterious intricacies and a level of cool. I had the idea of basketweaving different leathers together to create this unique vest that @mrkaranoberoi wears. And Cait did such an amazing job of beautifully weaving them together and managing my perfectionism! Once fully woven, glued, and sewn into place @notalexus dyed and painted the vest to look like it had been worn for centuries. . The shirt was a beautiful iridescent dupioni silk that gave the extra push of blue we needed without having to have Karan in the makeup chair for hours. The horned crescent moon the chest piece is a little nod to Jinn lore. .
