New Releases Oct 31–> What a wild week for new releases, probably one of the year’s biggest lists. The Cindy Lee reissues are finally here, with Cat O’ Nine Tails getting the top billing this week. The scarcely seen album would be a hint of what was to come with Diamond Jubillee. Roméo Poirier’s newest takes the “studio as instrument” to its logical end, splicing and chopping the sounds of the studio into a hallucinatory collage. Rafael Toral follows up his Spectral Evolution LP from last year with another showstopper. Experimental producer Dania enters the dreampop sweepstakes with her newest for Somewhere Press. Good Morning Tapes returns with an EP from goa trance purveyors Full Circle. Alfa Mist’s newest delves into dystopian storytelling on his new album. Numero continue the Lord God’s work with a new vinyl pressing of the heavenly shoegaze of lovesliescrushing. Burial’s new EP finally lands. Kevin Drumm’s epic sonic wall that is 2002’s Sheer Hellish Miasma is finally reissued. World Of Echo drop two new releases this week, coming one week after the ROTW from Läuten Der Seele, the highlighted release of the pair is from Trjj’s strange universe. Manuel Göttsching’s shop fave New Age Of Earth is mercifully reissued. An electronic-kraut blissed bit of business. Pretty stunned by the debut album from Added Dimensions, a DIY indie-pop album full of scuffed up edges that recalls both the 80s British post-punk takeover and PNW riot grrl. Giving us the same feeling as hearing Times New Viking’s scrappy pop almost two decades back. Aleksi Perälä’s newest is also one of the most accessible we’ve heard in some time, running his Colundi tuning system through the style of braindance that he was churning out at the turn of the century via his Astrobotnia and Ovuca guises. Sneaker Social Club shine a light on Basic Unit’s lone album, 1998’s Timeline. Plus Cosmic Tones Research’s newest, Barker’s AOTY contender finally repressed, DJ Haram’s new stunner, Cheater Slicks live boots, new Yungwebster, a 1080p classic from Patrick Holland, and so many more. —>audiopile.ca
