Another work trip in the books. Had a great time in Ethiopia for two weeks recently. Traveled for work to my project’s office, but was able to explore the city with friends and colleagues. Great food (excluding my failure to make injera), lots of tej, and friendly and welcoming people. The country’s rich history is marked by its maintained independence and victory over the Italian Empire during the age of European imperialism, which much of the city’s art and statues honor. I hope to explore more of the country, especially the north, one day when it is safer.
