Happy birthday to me!! 🎉🥳 I can’t believe I’ve stayed alive this long. I genuinely never ever thought I’d get to this age. Or any age past 18yo tbh🥺⁣ ⁣ Less than 18 months ago in the early 2021, I was dying, frightened & in agonising pain, completely paralysed from the waist down, dealing with septic infection after septic infection, spending my days in hospital preparing for death (& subsequently survived numerous resuscitations & code blues) - the images on the right hand side - then I did extensive in & outpatient rehab to manage the mobility I have today. And less the 6 months ago, I was comatose for days with a GCS (Glasgow Coma Scale) of 3, on deaths door.⁣ ⁣ Yet, since then, I’ve met so many amazing ppl, found some incredible community, road-tripped all the way to Uluṟu & back, travelled the world 🌍✈️ solo & with Martin, shared my truth (& gained back so much internal power) abt my abuse/trauma & the unjust/crappy things that happened to me, won various local/national/international awards, moved into another new & exciting home after lots of searching (which we proudly (mainly Martin lol 😜) renovated to meet my specific disability access needs), participated in numerous modelling campaigns, fashion shows @melbfashionweek etc, modelled & shot for so many awesome, incredible brands, in national advocacy campaigns, gotten 4 brand new tattoos, taken care of over 30+ new doggies for @dachshundandco (+ keeping very super busy with lots of puppy serotonin!), advised as a professional consultant for numerous organisations & projects across Australia, been a paid guest & keynote presenter at plenty of events, podcasts, radio shows & ⁣even, very excitedly did @ausfashionweek today!!⁣ 🎉⁣ ⁣ SERIOUSLY- what the heck is my life?? The past 18 months have been hard AF but also so wonderful too. Thank you to all who have contributed to that. Thank you to ME for having fought hard.⁣ ⁣ While being alive I still incredibly challenging, & I don’t know what the future holds... (so much so that I don’t plan beyond 3-6 months ahead), I’m darn grateful for what life has given me after some of the darkest & literally death-defying times of life 💕💖⁣ ⁣ [Image ID in comments]
