Taxus baccata, aka Yew. My favourite for formal hedging, winter structure, hiding ugly walls, dividing spaces and so much more. Grows in all aspects, and all soil types - but hates having wet feet - so if you have clay soil be sure to add plenty drainage in the form of sand or grit.
