Christian really doesn’t care for birthdays (especially his own), so I decided to really go all out and write him an entire birthday post because I know he secretly loves his birthday and being celebrated. Maybe he’ll admit to it one day. Truth is, I celebrate this human day in and day out, and never get tired in the process because he is my absolute favorite human on this planet, and that’s been the case for nearly a decade now. If you know Christian, you know how big, kind, and sincere his heart is and you know how much he cares about every human he comes into contact with. You also probably know how much he loves music and his records, and that Jasper is his first soul mate and I’m his second. Kindness and love are languages that he speaks effortlessly, and that’s the stuff that spreads and sticks and inspires and propels onward for eternity. I am so grateful that I’m able to witness him shine brighter and brighter as the years go by. A few of my favorite things about my favorite human: Christian’s emotional shower singing (Usher specifically on a good day), his endless curiosity which spills over into every facet of life, the passion he has for discovering new words and using them and the palpable happiness he experiences when he uses a very abstract word in a sentence correctly, his obsession with tracking package deliveries and waiting excitedly by the door for yet another record delivery, the way his right eyebrow comes up ever so slightly when he really likes something, his general nonchalantness, the concern on his face when a record doesn’t sound the way he wants it to sound, his fascination with mortality and the way he deeply ruminates on death that makes me a bit uncomfortable at times, his ability to emanate home, safety, and love at all hours of the day, his knack for being really funny (quite unknowingly). But that’s just a few of my favorite things. I could go on and on. Cheers to celebrating my favorite human today, tomorrow, and forever ❤️ another revolution around the Sun completed!
