Truth be told, I was a little nervous before my interview with @the_real_iman . I mean, how often does one find oneself in the presence of a true icon? Alone! With a long list of probing questions! But really I had no reason to be nervous. From the moment I stepped in the door of her gorgeous house upstate, Iman made me feel right at home. It didn't hurt that she prepared a delicious lunch for us both before I arrived (she emailed me personally to ask if I had any dietary restrictions beforehand—talk about classy!) It was the kind of warm welcome I would only expect from a friend or a relative. She was gracious, down-to-earth, and deeply soulful, with a refreshingly wry sense of humor. Listening to her talk candidly about the special bond she shared with David Bowie was a reminder that sometimes soulmates do find each other on earth.
