Been excited to share this for a while and I finally got this bad boy in the mail. Last year, in the heat of Covid, I arranged, played, produced, mixed and mastered a single for Kingfish called “Rock & Roll” about his late mother. It deviated from a traditional blues sound and was included as the bonus track on his album “662” which won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album. I’m so grateful that Kingfish (@callmekingfish) and Ric Whitney (@rickymedia) trusted me to work with them on such an important song. I’m also so insanely impressed with Tom Hambridge (a fellow Berklee alum) who produced and co-wrote every one of the other 13 songs on the album (and Kingfish’s prior debut album). Getting to be there at the award ceremony to witness Kingfish accept his Grammy was such an incredible moment. I still feel like I’m on a high from that weekend, and I’ve never been more excited to create new music!
