After the refreshing summer rain yesterday and warm morning sunshine, this White water-lily's petals (Nymphaea alba) have fully opened to welcome pollinators. Did you know that the White water-lily's flower is the largest one seen in the UK - up to 20cm in diameter! Apart from the floating flowers and waxy leaves, the plant can actually grow up to 5m below the surface, where its rooted in the mud.
