Istanbul is a huge city, teeming with history and culture, and with no shortage of things to do. But one area that can go overlooked (but shouldn't!) is the Balat neighborhood. Balat is not a tourist area of the city, in fact it's very residential, but it is home to colorful, old wooden homes and narrow streets that can have you wandering around the whole day.
