It now feels so freeing knowing that I can spend that energy I used on hating myself on something more fulfilling. We constantly knock our bodies each and every year - I look back at my body from the year before wondering why I was never truly and utterly obsessed with it. Appreciating its constant battle to keep me alive and running every single second of the day. As soon as we start accepting all those lil things we deem as insecurities or imperfections, we can start living again. Focusing on all the things that make our heart feel fuzzy, connecting with our loved ones, making beautiful memories that we’ll tell our kids or younger generations. Life is about living and not fixating on our bodies. When you start speaking kinder to yourself and your poor body, life feels a lot lighter. I know it’s easier said than done, it’s taken me SO long to write the messages I post on social media and share my personal story of acceptance but I just think it’s SO important that we keep pushing ourselves and the people were love to see the joy and beauty in their bodies. They truly are wonderful. [CC: When you were 12 you wanted a smaller tummy, less body hair or thinner things When you were 16 you wanted a smaller waist, a bigger bum or a smaller nose When you were 26 you wanted tighter skin, your teenage body back and to be less wobbly When you turn 30 you’ll realise how cute you were at 26 When you’re 40 you’ll ask yourself why you never thought you were beautiful at 30 When you’re 50 you’ll just want your joint pain to go away And when you’re 80 you’ll realise you regretted every time you ever looked at your body with dislike or disgust] #selflove #bodyacceptance #bodypositivity #bodyneutrality #bodyposipals
