The legendary #BlitzKid/living art object #LeighBowery photographed by #FergusGreer circa 1988. His polka-dot makeup and outfit was commentary on the early days of the AIDS crisis, as many gay men had Kaposi's Sarcoma spots, and he painted his face as an homage to the facial lesions inflicting HIV patients. Slide 2: The look was later co-opted by the #ClubKids in the 1990s (as seen on notorious party promotor and convicted killer #MichaelAlig) Slide 3: it was also featured on #MacaulayCulkin as Alig in cult indie classic Party Monster (2003).
