I’ve loved the character Hope Mikaelson for a long time and this year it became my honor to design her, and in the process I got to know and love Danielle Rose Russell. Our fittings were a wonderful and beautiful sacred space where we got to explore this new tribrid journey that Hope was going on, but at the same time we got to just bond and be. Our moments together I will treasure always and forever. You all love her because she’s an amazing actress, but she’s so much more than that. Sharp as a tack, low-key brilliantly intelligent, just a flick of her eyes can create a whole look and mood, and always ready for a good laugh. For our last Costume Friday for filming, we chose to Salvatore it up, being dress as a character, in salvatore gear, etc... I’d purchased a similar jumpsuit to Hope’s 401 (your 404 or 405) in a bright red because I wanted to experiment with overdying it- but on my own dime, not the show’s in case it went wrong but I still got something cute out of it. @notalexus did a beautiful job tie dying it, but as what often happens on tv, there ended up not being a place to do this version of it for Hope...but again, I still got a really great jumpsuit out of it that gets compliments everywhere I go. But I couldn’t help but get a photo of Danielle and I bring our best Hope games to the plate.
