The light from the windows that line the dome and entrance to St. Peter’s Basilica continuously brings in light to the massive building. It is designed this way to emulate the light coming from the Heavens. The architecture is also designed to be more simple at the floor and continue to become more ornate, detailed, and beautiful as your eyes move up toward the ceiling, toward the light, toward Heaven. It is in looking up towards beauty that we find the Light. And the Light enables us to see clearly the paths that we are designed and made to walk as humans. The paths (each decision in life) has a beautiful route or not so beautiful route. Our entire lives are made to be lived in a beautiful way. It is walking a beautiful path (life) that is the foundation of happiness. So in everything we do we must ask ourselves, what is more beautiful? Is it more beautiful to be selfless or selfish? To be courageous or cowardice? To be generous or to be self serving? The list goes on. Lift your eyes and heart upwards in everything you do. Beauty stands on the foundation of truth.
