Not many people have photos of the day they met, but I do. I remember being 21 living in Cape Town and how nervous I was to introduce myself to the most beautiful girl I had ever seen and tell her I was the new intern at her agency. There was a lot I didn’t know when I met her. I wasn’t aware yet that her outer beauty hailed in comparison to her heart and soul. I had no idea that she would become one of my closest friends, roommate, exercise buddy, party partner (where I would always make her take one shot with me, and she in turn would blame her entire hangover on me), confidant, and most recently had the privilege of working with her again right as her wildest dreams were all coming true. My sweet Charlbs, I will forever be in debt to you, you opened your heart to me and let me become one of the lucky ones to have such a fiercely loyal, generous, and loving friend.
