Free writing: I can’t believe the day has come where I drive further east than I’ve ever driven before. To a new place I’ll call home. It didn’t hit me until I had to say goodbye to my dad last night, with tears running down my face, that I’m really moving (my uncles and aunts may find a weird comfort knowing that somethings about me will never change). Minnesota has been my home, a constant throughout my life, and it is really hard leaving. I’m excited for new adventures, but going somewhere new and starting fresh, while exciting, is also really scary. And I’m sad. I’ve had the comfort of living near my parents for all but one year of my life. Knowing that I could quickly drive and see them if I needed or wanted to is a comfort I’ve taken for granted for far too long. I’m excited to live closer to my siblings, so I’m very happy about that. Do be sure, my head and feelings are a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts and emotions. But for now, I want to say thank you Minnesota. You have been the best home I could ask for and I really hope Massachusetts can fill your shoes. . . . . . #shesleavinghome #movingday #eastwardbound
