BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT, JUDGES’ AUDITION ✨🏆 Completely overwhelmed. I am incredibly fortunate and proud to have experienced this moment with @londonschoolofbollywood, a group of brave, talented and kind dancers. Working together, side by side, to perform a routine on the show was in itself a major feat, but to have been able to do it with a concept so beautiful as ours, felt surreal. A massive massive shoutout to everyone on the team! With 4 ‘Yes’-es, standing ovations and positive comments, what more could we ask for? @prazchoreo, thank you for bringing us together to ‘Dance for Inclusion’; you’re the best! It was beautiful to get to challenge the heteronormative narratives that dominate Bollywood with this sweet little queer twist. To everyone who took the time to message me, write on my wall, send me snapchats and insta-mentions, etc.: THANK YOU! It’s so encouraging to see such acceptance and love for our routine. Your love and support means the world to us. I’ve received several messages, from friends and strangers alike, telling me how the dance has inspired them and encouraged them to be comfortable with who they are. To do an act such as this on a platform as large as Britain’s Got Talent with such a huge audience - both national and international - and to receive all of this support is incredibly humbling and truly gives me perspective on our whole dance concept. Everyone expresses their gender in unique ways; there is no fixed way. I believe it’s about time everyone started looking beyond the gender binary that is too often imposed on us. If we could just celebrate individuality by accepting everyone in whichever way they choose to express themselves, the world would be a much better place. With a routine like this we hoped to add to the discourse around gender fluidity, non-conformity, and queerness that is too often ignored and begin making everyone feel comfortable – and included - in their own skin.
