From 1st September we will be revising our prices on most products, this is due to several factors and we think it should be transparent and honest about this: 1. Material costs- due to Brexit (thanks for that btw) the cost of having materials delivered have gone up. We decided to feel the pinch but as more and more suppliers raise their costs it has become inevitable that we will have to do the same. 2. VAT. In October 2021 we passed the turnover threshold for charging VAT. While this is an incredible achievement to have grown the business to this size, we now have to pay 20% of every sale to tax. We have absorbed this for nearly a year, but are now having to pass this increase onto customers. 3. Studio move. We are unfortunately having to move the studio due to our landlords selling the lease of the whole basement we currently rent a very small portion of to a much larger company. We have been very fortunate with cheap rent for a central location while we have been growing, but our rent is now going up 6x what we currently pay, with increases on other bills too. 4. Quality of our work- This is something we don’t ever want to fall short on, we are committed to providing top quality service and materials, creating everything bespoke and made to measure. This means when you buy anything from a harness to a full leather outfit you will have your measurements taken, the design will be drawn up and you’ll be able to come in for a fitting (if you are London based) This process is far more expensive than outsourcing to cheaper locations across the world. We believe in employing local, employing inclusively, and paying a living wage to our staff.
