It can be said that most of the impact of human ingenuity has been either intended for — or beneficial to — industrial and/or commercial applications. One common consequence of our technological advancement is how it can impose a belief that we are separate from, or worse in control of, nature. The truth is that our existence relies on countless ecological factors, many of which are invisible or often incomprehensible to us by way of either size, complexity, or proximity. All of this to say that it’s imperative to remember that we are not living ON Earth, we are living WITH Earth.
