Are we born selfish, isolated, and self-serving? Or do we develop these traits over time? In this dance, I want to explore the stories of a person who is born with a giving heart. For many of us kindness and consideration is something that must be taught. However, there are also those who are naturally giving, compassionate, and kind. These people often are comforting to others and connect with many people with ease, not for a sense of safety or out of insecurity, but simply because their being draws people in. This topic is important to me because I’ve encountered many situations that are conflicting for myself or others where the solution is to simply "give less" or "just stop giving" to people. This solution is often connected to the lesson that you cannot be unconditionally kind or giving because others will take from you more than they give back. However, I have learned that it is almost never that easy to switch off that first instinct to help those you care about when they ask and figure out the rest later. This is my first choreography project and I'm so proud of it. Thank you Mrs. Renfroe for pushing me to discover what I can do in dance and supporting me through all my confusion and weird methods of exploration.🫶🏾 I can't wait to do more dance in the future. 🎵: "Dangerously Easy"- @oliviadeano . . . . #dance #musicaltheatre #youngperformers #dancer #solo #solochoreography #choreography #seniorproject
