happy to announce my latest client — @maelimarket in north toronto. from two taiwanese-canadian sisters alice and angel, their import legacy as a family dates back 25+ years with @kuohua_trading in canada. the name “maeli” is a combination of the sisters’ names along with their mother, lisa. also coincidentally translates literally to “beautiful.” currently stocking 5,000+ taiwanese products, it’s a hub for all things taiwanese in toronto: teas, snacks, plums, preservatives, juices, drinks, knives, ceramics, soaps, ice cream. taiwan is a beautiful, mountainous country that i’ve never yet been to but eager to learn more about through this project. taiwanese cuisine and culture is finally receiving its long overdue spotlight in mainstream media in recent years. while working hand in hand with the taiwanese government, i’ll be designing exciting events, collaborative programming and leading brand direction. please follow @maelimarket as i give it a proper refresh and love in the coming weeks and stop by sometime if you’re ever in toronto! 🍁🇨🇦
