Cuckoo madness continues!
Clock on left by @woodmess from Turkey.
Clock on the right by @cloudnola from Holland. Because the origins of these two clocks are so different, I decided to negotiate the discrepancy by situating them in a classic North American forest — more specifically, the woods of North Carolina where I grew up.
I played with the concept of time symbolized by the Tortoise and the Hare, from Aesop’s Fables.
The Tortoise and the Hare also represents my brother and I. Somehow, I earned the nickname Rabbit as a child, probably because I was always impatiently and wildly hopping about. My brother was the opposite: methodical and slow-moving, we often teased him for taking an hour to eat dinner, earning him the moniker Turtle. In retrospect, his ability to maintain his own timing is a true gift, and this photo a love letter to that quality.
@forgot_about_yeh, I love you! Thank you for showing me that the slow way can be the best way.
