There are so many “cleaning hacks” when it comes to keeping your cycling shoes clean (leave yours in the comments!!) and here are my go to’s. Keeping your shoes clean isn’t just about aesthetics, it also increases the lifespan of your shoes and prevents dirt/debris from inhibiting your ability to clip in and out efficiently. I have found that the @mrclean magic eraser works for every day wipe downs, keeping stains at bay. For a deeper clean, remove the soles of the shoe (and cleats if they are especially caked with mud) immerse in a tub with warm water and a mild laundry detergent or shoe specific soap, gently work the stains with a shoe brush or toothbrush, rinse and air dry. For super caked in stains, the baking soda + white vinegar paste (two parts baking soda to one part vinegar) works particularly well. Don’t forget to apply a shoe protectant/weatherproof spray when you first purchase and then about every two weeks of regular riding or after each wash (I like @crepprotect ).
