When students no longer have access to healthy food sources during the week because of school closures and breaks, community meals fill in the gaps. Many communities provide meals at parks, pools, public libraries and other neighborhood sites—especially during the summer months. 🥪 Flexibility and access are two major factors for teens' when it comes to school meals. For some, the community meals may be the only full meal they are able to eat that day because they don't have enough food at home during school breaks. #NoKidHungry continues to work and support school and community meal programs across the U.S. that help to provide youths with the meals they need to thrive. 🧡
