It has been a day and it’s only 2pm! The first photo is what we like to post right? Cute, fashionable, clean, together... the “I’m an LA mom who has her $%*! together! A baby won’t change my productivity levels” photo... The second photo is me doing the important work of calming my baby who, shortly after taking the first photo had a melt down and we have yet to recover fully. My cheeks are stained with mascara, my hair is dirty, and I’m getting 0% of what I planned on done. But my baby is calm, regulating her nervous system, skin to skin, her heart beating against mine, finding coherence. As hard as it is for the “doing” part of myself I know that this... this “being” is what matters most, rest can wait.
