An honor to be invited to talk at the Press Club in DC yesterday. A friend and former colleague reminded me that women were banned from this room until 1955 and then confined to the balcony for the next 15 years. It wasn’t until 1971 that women were allowed to join as members. As an immigrant Latina, who was formerly undoc, It makes this all the more special. So many amazing and bright young journalists, who connected so deeply with the messages of The Other. I’m so overwhelmed and excited to continue to amplify this important and needed message.
