📚Book Review: Darius The Great Deserves Better ⚽️ By: Adib Khorram Published: August 25, 2020 Darius Kellner’s life has changed dramatically, since his trip to Iran. He’s getting along with his day, his best friend is only a Skype call away, he’s on the soccer team, he has a boyfriend(!), and he landed a dream internship at a tea shop. Everything should be great, but it’s not. I truly feel this is one of those rare instances where the sequel was even better than the first book. As you can see from my previous review, I really liked how the first book touched on Darius’ identifies and how they impacted all facets of his life. This book dove even deeper and I was blown away by how masterfully so many different storylines on hard topics were woven into this book. Khorram was able to capture the nuances of intersecting identities in a way that I’m just so struck by. In particular, Darius’ depression, sexual orientation, and Persian American identities are portrayed in a way that grabbed me by the shirt and threw me into his journey through life. I’ll be chewing on this one for a long time to come. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 #QOTD: how’s was your week? 👀 Gaga was INCREDIBLE and I’m so very sleep today.
