2of3. )'( // 26 . the main reason I’m breaking silence on instagram is to share my recent experience in black rock city. this year i turned 26, on august 26th, which as fate would have it lined up to be the day before my first burn. as anyone who has been to the playa will tell you, its difficult to put the event into words. the art is spectacular beyond imagination, and the natural location as unfathomably austere as it is stunning. but most importantly the community spirit is nothing short of magical. . especially in times like these, when so many in our default society seem to be driven by hate and individualism, the importance of community principals such as those curated by the citizens of black rock city is even more pronounced. radical inclusion, self-reliance, communal effort - our every day society is in dire need of an ethos refresher course. . and that’s why I’m writing all of this. to ask everyone i know to head out to this utopian space and experience it first hand. hopefully you’ll come away feeling as i have. feeling as though you are part of something bigger than yourself, and more importantly, feeling that you can take what you have learned and apply it to your everyday life. if enough people do so, maybe we can set a different course than the one we are currently on.. . s/o to all you beautiful dusty friends for an unforgettable first time on the playa. see you next year 🌙 @thequach, @tommygalvao, @miles_high1, @alilfromthehill, @_gilliancooper_, @melisesana, @jwexxx, @the.real.jlo, @calbothegreat, @gracagrace, @_lizziepereira, @foxhunter, the dusty dutch duo 👯@nikkidehoog @monadebruin, and my adopted Aussie family 🐨💛 @patrice__douglas @tedmcgroder @alexmumby @dindylouise . . #burningman #burningman2017
