It’s September! and my birthday month! and that means it’s Virgo season AND the beginning of spooky season. I’m taking a break from your regularly scheduled live illustration posts and bringing you some personal projects that include these whimsical folklore inspired #WhimsiGothic tarot cards. I’ve hand-painted each 5 x 7” piece in gouache and so far I have done all of the major arcana cards in the traditional Rider Waite deck. Each piece pictures scenes from my backyard here in Los Angeles including cats, possums, flora, and foxes (okay those I don’t see here but they are my spirit animal for autumn).
