“The White War” was on the very western edge of the Italian-Austrian front during WWI. War is basically all around ridiculous, but high altitude fortifications and fighting on the edge of glaciers in the late 19-teens is just absurd! I’ve been very curious to check out the Adamello area for a few years now and the geography and history of the area blew away any expectations I had—what a place!!!
