❗️READ❗️This is a tricky one. It’s not a clear cut situation in terms of “Huda Beauty was being misleading and selling dangerous ingredients”so I’ve seen people say. 😫 The regulatory landscape is incredibly difficult, so complex and time consuming that brands will outsource to regulatory professionals to do all their compliance. Are some colouring agents restricted in the US? Yes. Are they restricted in the UK and EU? No! And I’m guessing other continents too as many adopt the EU regs. Do many MANY US brands sell palettes with these restricted CI numbers? YES. Do we use them on the eye area still? YES. This is a guess but I would be surprised if those who own this palette don’t own other brands who do the same. In this instance I don’t think Huda Beauty is wrong or selling “dangerous ingredients” but I feel should they have create a label like NYX then no one could have had an issue. Let’s be clear, it is labelled a pressed pigment palette, legally it’s correct but the grey area is that not all consumers understand or know the regulations when it comes to colours and labelling requirements and why warning statements need to be clear, even if the consumer doesn’t take any notice of them. This is for the benefit of both the customer and the brand - to avoid plaintiffs like this happening. From the products I have, Huda Beauty produces quality and effective products. This I’m sure is a lesson for the future of their brand and others. What’s your thoughts? #hudabeauty #hudaneonpalette #neonobsession #neonobsessions #hudabeautyneonobsessions #hudakattan #beautynews
