Parenthood It’s fucking wild to be honest. Everyone says that but you never realize it until you’re in it. It’s late nights, early mornings, and a never ending drain on your time and resources. Add in being career focused, deeply committed to our marriage, and living away from our entire family and my wife and I have honestly had some struggles over the past few months in learning to be our best selves all the time. And maybe that’s it. Maybe it’s accepting that we will fail from time to time but resolving to do better for him that allows us the space and grace to improve. What I do know is since becoming a parent I’ve experienced more headache and frustration than I ever thought imaginable however, I have experienced far greater joy than I could ever describe and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Additionally, I’ve learned true priority and the merit of a purpose filled life. To all you parents, I know the tedious nature of parenthood can truly be a drag and I certainly miss the freedom and more relaxed nature of life before children, and Jesus god I know how thankless it is, but know that what you’re doing to raise children of character, to be a good role model is not unseen and is valued.
