Last year I watched from home on the couch with my favorite person; this year I’ll be on stage in LA thinking about my favorite person. Happy of course but also & always now a wee bit sad - because that is #grief. And it’s okay. The sad is okay. The sad will never go away, because you miss your other half, but the happy can grow, I am finding, in spite of the sad, around it, through it, and even side-by-side with it. I absolutely know Brian will be with me on Star Trek Day, as he was last year, beaming, proud of me, making me laugh, making me think, encouraging me, reminding me that I have more work to do. My work and our work and Trek work.
