This is much harder than it seems. ⠀ Our deepest attachment wounds are triggered at “their worst” when we are at our capacity to manage stress. This can happen to even the most securely attached person. ⠀ You could be the chilliest person on the planet, but there will be moments when you falter. As human beings, it’s normal to have moments when you’re not at your best. ⠀ The goal is not to shame yourself or put yourself down, but to become more and more aware of your conditioning and what you’ve learned about relating to others. And then consciously unlearning those messages. Eventually making space for new habits. ⠀ Creating a secure relationship is possible for everyone; regardless of your attachment style and upbringing. It requires an intention (the desire for a balanced relationship); awareness (of your attachment triggers/wounds and your partner’s); and behaviour change (taking action to make changes that transform insecure habits to secure ones). ⠀ Healing happens in the moment. Every decision you make when relating to your partner and to yourself can help heal an insecure attachment into a secure one. ⠀ Follow @well.guide for more daily content on emotions, relationships and all the messy but fun parts of being a human! ⠀ ⠀ . . . #wellguide #attachmentstyles #anxiousattachment #healingattachmentstyles #healingattachmentwounds #attachmenttrauma #attachmenttraumaandhealing #insecureattachment #relationshiptips #datingtips #abandonmentissues #overcomingcodependency #partswork #secureattachment #peoplepleaserproblems #copingskills #parentingyourself #avoidantattachment #millennialtherapist #millennialproblems #healyourmind #traumarecovery #healingtips #emotionalregulationskills #selfhelptools #vulnerabilityisstrength #emotionalhealing #healyourself #innerchildhealing #selfhelptips
