Fancy Friday reviews are back and we have a beauty today! The 2024 OFBB, one that is quite sought after and it’s worthy of the drink. Let’s get into it: N: Not an overly sweet nose indicative of the corn dominant mashbill, there is definitely a funky slightly rubbery nose to this. It’s a note I’ve found on some agricole rums but nowhere near as intense. P: some caramel and apple notes are found in the front palate but this gets more herbaceous as it works its way through your palate. F: What sweet notes are there fades into the distance quickly and the more herbaceous notes stick around for a while. Overall I say this whiskey is well rounded and an experience for a more seasoned bourbon drinker, especially one willing to move away from the normal expectations of a bourbon. I’ve always found OFBB unique if not exactly my cup of tea. I can see people liking this as it’s one of the better OFBB’s I’ve had. Have you had this?
